Bear Valley Springs Waste Disposal and Recycling

Solid Waste Transfer Station

At the heart of Bear Valley Springs waste management is our Solid Waste Transfer Station, located conveniently next to the BVCSD offices at 28999 South Lower Valley Road. This is where residents can properly dispose of household trash, green waste, and manure.

For household trash, please deposit items directly into the roll-off containers. For green waste and manure, kindly separate these materials and place them in their designated drop-off areas. Here's a simple guide for categorization:

Household Waste:

  • Waxed paper
  • Food wrappings
  • Floor sweepings
  • Paper towel & tissues
  • Broken glass & mirrors
  • Food waste
  • Soiled paper
  • Soiled cardboard
  • Ceramic dishware
  • Pizza boxes

Green Waste & Manure:

  • Livestock manure
  • Lawn clippings
  • Leaves & weeds
  • Branches (not exceeding 4" in diameter)
  • Garden trimmings

Note: Green Waste regulations limit disposal to 3 cubic yards per parcel, per day.

Contractors must provide a manifest, signed by the homeowner, identifying the property of origin and contents of the waste.

Single-Stream Recycling

We're proud to facilitate single-stream recycling of glass, plastic, paper, and aluminum. Remember, no plastic bags, Styrofoam, wood, green waste, or food waste can be included in your recycling.

Recycling Items:

  • Plastic bottles & containers
  • Food & beverage cans
  • Flattened cardboard & paperboard
  • All glass bottles & containers
  • Food & beverage cartons
  • Paper products

Recycling bags are available for free at the waste transfer station and the BVCSD Office.

Items Not Accepted at the Transfer Station

Bulky items such as furniture, mattresses, appliances, tires, electronic waste, construction and demolition debris, household hazardous waste, and waste from commercial sources are not accepted at our facility. These items should be dropped off at the Tehachapi Landfill.

Remember, it's our collective responsibility to ensure waste is disposed of correctly to keep our community and environment healthy. For more information, visit our office or call us at 661-821-4428.
